WE WON'T FORGET
by Donna F. Miller
The grass still grows upon the hill
No matter who the war may kill.
The ocean waves still break and roll
As deadly bullets take their toll.
The sky still shines a brilliant blue
While soldiers die in morning dew.
The Earth keeps turning 'round its core
Ignoring victims of the war.
We can't ignore the grief and pain.
American soldiers have been slain.
Each generation must be taught
Our heroes' deaths were not for naught.
Memorial Day reminds us all.
We won't forget. We will recall.
