MEMORIAL DAY 2013
by Donna F. Miller
During battle you watched them die.
You had no time to stop and cry.
No time to feel or show your grief.
The bullets flew without relief.
You came home but some were lost.
The wars were cruel and great the cost.
We grieve with you and all the peers
Of those who died throughout the years.
Memorial Day reminds us all
Of those in battle who had to fall.
So take a moment to give a thought
Of those who died, for us they fought.
Remember the flag they helped to fly.
It proudly waves in a peaceful sky.
Our blessings are legion as we know.
The American Soldier made it so.
