The Vietnam Wall was set in the field.
The names of the dead engraved and sealed.
Our grief exposed and not yet healed.
As taps by bagpipes filled our ears,
We walked the length and shed our tears.
We lost so many through the years.
Korea, World Wars, The Middle East,
Warriors in action, now deceased.
Patriots all can rest in peace.
Memorials built in stone or thought
To honor those who served and fought.
We'll not forget the lessons taught.
Our freedom never has been free.
They paid our price for liberty.
Their deeds live on in memory.

Special thanks to the Elks Club
for bringing The Wall to Lake County.
